Vice President, Asset Management
As Vice President of Asset Management, Sam Makani assists in overseeing Driftwood’s hotel investments, including portfolio management, operational performance, capital expenditures, disposition strategy and business intelligence/industry research. Prior to joining Driftwood Capital, Sam was Vice President of Portfolio Strategy & Reporting at Solid Rock Group, Senior Analyst at Ashford, Inc. (NYSE: AINC), and served as the first member of the Development Strategy team at G6 Hospitality following its acquisition by Blackstone.
Sam holds a B.A. from the Honors College at Baylor University; an M.S. in Hospitality Management with Specialization in Real Estate from Florida International University; a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University and an Executive Certificate, Hospitality and Tourism Management from Florida Atlantic University. He enjoys travel, photography and reading.
