Sr. Vice President, Construction

As Senior Vice President of Construction, Jorge Escalona oversees all facets of Driftwood Capital’s development projects, from predevelopment efforts to opening. He held previous positions with Suffolk Construction and Coastal Construction Group, concentrating in research facilities, education and cultural/performing arts projects in South Florida. Notably, he built the SUrge-STructure-Atmosphere INteraction (SUSTAIN) research laboratory, the largest hurricane simulator in the world, for the University of Miami.

Jorge graduated with a B.S. from University of Florida Rinker School of Building Construction, majoring in Building Construction and minor in Business Administration. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional, and is OSHA Certified.

Originally from Spain, Jorge has lived all over the world, including in Mexico, Puerto Rico, New Jersey and Miami. He loves running and spending time on the beach.
